Site of the Springfield Race Riot added to the historic registrar.
The Department of the Interior announced on Thursday that the site of the 1908 Springfield Race Riot would be added to a list of significant landmarks in the nation’s fight for civil rights. This location was the catalyst to the creation of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
Secretary Bernhardt expressed his admiration for President Trump’s efforts saying, “President Trump enacted the African American Civil Rights Network legislation to honestly tell the full and sometimes painful story of the struggle for civil rights to foster healing, tolerance, and understanding among all Americans. The horrible events of the Springfield Race Riot more than 110 years ago are a part of our history and a story that must be told and remembered.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to use the Trump administration to help the nation heal from racial division.
- For the Interior Department to help the nation grow more unified.
- That Secretary Bernhardt would be an effective leader of the Interior Department.
